Gordon founded Alpha Helix in March 2019 after he bought out Nexus Corporate Finance, a business he co-founded in 2016, from the wider Nexus Group. The vision is to establish a trusted advisor specialising in UK mid market health and education businesses. Gordon has over twenty years' experience of advising healthcare companies, both public and private, on a range of transactions and financial products.

Gordon studied Pharmacology at the University of Aberdeen followed by a PhD in Pharmacology at Cambridge University.

Gordon qualified as an ACA with Arthur Andersen where he worked in the Healthcare Corporate Finance team in both London and New York. Gordon spent five years in Citigroup's healthcare team working in both New York and London. Gordon led the life science team at Deloitte Corporate Finance and Healthcare team at ING prior to joining Cavendish where he spent six years advising on the sale of healthcare businesses.
